Featured Employee: Meet Shelley!

When it comes to your new home search, there’s no one better to have your first contact with than Shelley Serface, our incredible online sales counselor. Kind, caring, and upbeat, Shelley will make your initial steps as enjoyable and easy as possible. Before you start your journey, here’s a behind-the-scenes look into Shelley’s role, what she loves about New Tradition Homes, and her interests outside of work!

What’s your relationship with New Tradition Homes? What do you love most about working here?

I am the OSC for New Tradition Homes. I love that we are a local, family-owned company and have been in business for over 30 years!

How does an OSC like you make a positive impact on homeowners?

When a potential homeowner registers, I make sure to get in contact with them immediately afterwards. My priority is educating them on our product, floor plans, communities, etc. so that they feel confident and in control moving forward.

Where did you grow up? Tell us about your family! 

I grew up in Washington and currently live in Ridgefield with my husband and two boys, Nick and Ryan, ages 16 and 17. Nick is a senior this year and will be heading off to college in the fall on a track scholarship. Proud mama! :)

How do you spend your free time? What do you do to relax? 

I love the outdoors, especially hiking, kayaking and running. You can also find me at Home Goods at least once a week. I enjoy spending time with friends and family.

What do you wish other people knew about New Tradition Homes? 

Honestly, most people that are familiar with New Tradition know what a great builder we are. I often get feedback that they have heard nothing but excellent things about our company. If I had to choose one thing, it would be that New Tradition Homes can customize/make changes to our floor plans. Customers sometimes assume that they get what they see because other builders work that way. They are always pleasantly surprised when they hear that we can make custom changes.

What would someone be surprised to know about you?

I was a tomboy growing up! My dad wanted a boy and had two girls. While my sister did all the typical girly things, I played basketball, rode dirt bikes, worked on cars and boats with my dad, and did a ton of fishing.

Tell us about someone you admire. 

My husband. He has more patience than anyone I know. He 100% should have been a life coach, teacher, or counselor. We have so many friends that have children that look up to him as well.
