Furniture Pieces To Splurge On

February 22, 2021

From holiday gatherings to typical weeknights, your furniture is a big part of your family’s life. Aside from bringing comfort and practicality into your space, furniture lets your personality and style shine. As you settle into your home, we recommend investing in good quality (the best you can afford) furniture staples that never go out of style, and will last a long time.

Take a look at these timeless pieces that are worth the splurge...

Furniture Pieces To Invest In

A Comfortable Sofa: Don’t skimp on your sofa. This piece of furniture will always be the grounding force of any room. The best sofas include 2-seat or 3-seat cushions with self-welting, in a sturdy fabric. If it’s made well, the structure will last forever and you can just have it re-upholstered over the years. Select a clean-line look for a modern style, or a traditional one for a more transitional look. Accessorize with accent pillows and you’re good to go!

Large Leather Chair & Ottoman: This piece fits into any living room or den. Featuring classic brown or tobacco leather and large arms, it will be your “go-to”. Choose an ottoman that’s perfect to put your feet up on, and is also big enough to curl up in during family movie night. This one is sure to become a family favorite.

Pair of Armchairs: These upholstered beauties are typically added seating, paired up across from the sofa with a small table in between. But if upholstered in a fun fabric, they can add a little excitement to any room too! You can use them in your owner’s bedroom, flanking the dresser, or even as formal dining chairs at the head of the table.

A Credenza: This is a great piece of furniture. It can be used in so many different rooms and it offers additional storage. The classic location for it is in the dining room, however, you can get creative and use it in the living room to place the TV on or in a long hallway as a drop zone. Accessorize with a bowl for keys, a mirror above, and 2 lamps on either end.

Large Framed Mirror: Large mirrors tend to be expensive if you purchase them new, so they are definitely a splurge. However, you might stumble upon a good deal on an antique if you keep your eyes open. When you find the one you like, try placing it in the dining room to open up the space or lean it up against a wall to fill an awkward space in the room.

NTH is very organized and delivers a top quality product which they stand behind. We were allowed to customize many features of our home to make it function the way we wanted it to. The flexibility allowed was great. It took a little longer than some other builders, but the end result was worth the wait.
